ways to unwind on spring break

Spring Break is a time for escaping the mundane—the precursor to spring’s arrival which also serves as a time for enjoying family, friends, and perhaps a sunny destination. But sometimes, despite the miles traveled and having the perfect setting for relaxation, it can somehow still feel like you need a vacation from your vacation. We’ve been there! The good news is that it doesn’t have to be that way.

Not Feeling Festive

Normally, I’m your festive holiday friend. Always looking to plan a get together, gleefully picking out the perfect gift for a friend, blasting Vince Guaraldi Trio on repeat while donning a cable knit that probably should have been burned in 1989.

The arena lights dimmed as about 1,800 middle school girls settled into their seats, notebooks open, eyes wide. On the volleyball court, the Grand Rapids Rise players and head coach Cathy George took turns sharing stories and insights. Topics ranged from managing social media and mental health to overcoming perfectionism, building self-confidence, embracing individuality, and turning setbacks into opportunities for growth.
