The West Michigan Environmental Action Council and Grand Valley State University’s Women’s Center and Sustainable Community Development Initiative are presenting the second annual Women & Environment Symposium on Friday, February 15 at the GVSU L.V. Eberhard Center in downtown Grand Rapids. 

Beginning January 9, Pine Rest will display a selection of Stacy A. Niedzwiecki’s digital art pieces. The exhibit will be located in the Postma Center Leep Art Gallery at Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, 300 68th Street, Grand Rapids.

The upcoming new year spurs a host of resolutions, many of which revolve around improved eating habits and reaching a healthier weight. Chefs and dietitians at Saint Mary’s Health Care are providing resources to help West Michigan succeed with its goals.

Paul Hoffman, Joe Sturgill, and Bob Buchanan will rock the stage at Watermark 920 (920 Washington Ave, Muskegon, Michigan) on December 21, at 6 p.m., via the Inside The Mitten concert series.

PeaceLab Yoga is offering its monthly Yoga 101 Workshop Saturday, December 15 at 10:30 a.m. in Grandville. The workshop is a two-hour introductory class structured to help students new to yoga start at the beginning in a warm, welcoming environment. Yoga and its benefits will be discussed and essential poses will be broken down and explored. Basic anatomy, physiology, and philosophy will be explained and discussed. After the workshop, students will receive two weeks of unlimited yoga in order to experience all that PeaceLab has to offer, and to find the classes that best suit students' needs and schedule.
