GRandJazzFest presented by DTE Energy Foundation announces a special opportunity for jazz-performance students to be considered for the 2013 festival lineup, by “auditioning” as part of jam sessions put on by TrioJazz, led by local jazz artist Steve Hilger.

NextUP is a specialized leadership development program for high-potential women who are two to five years into their careers. The program is designed to help women overcome traditional roadblocks and achieve early and enduring success in a new assignment or job. 

Chicago native arts education theater ensemble group Barrel of Monkeys will return to West Michigan for a second year, to help kick-off LaughFest 2013’s family-friendly, educational, and comedic line-up of performances. Also returning are the Kids Joke Night and student competitions.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lakeshore is appealing to the community to support Bowl for Kids’ Sake, the mentoring organization’s biggest annual fundraiser, which raises money needed to carefully pair volunteer mentors with children who face adversity in staff-supported, long-term mentoring friendships.  

All-you-can-eat chocolate desserts for a good cause? Count us in! Check out the Grand Valley State University Women's Center's ninth annual "Indulge for a Cause" Thursday, February 21 from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Eberhard Center on the Pew Grand Rapids Campus.
