It’s time to get your wine on! The second annual Wine-A-Palooza is set to take place at West Michigan Banquet Center (previously known as Centennial Country Club) located at 3361 Charlevoix Dr. SE, in Grand Rapids. Wine-A-Palooza is a wine tasting event on July 12 from 6-11 p.m. This event is the brainchild of local entrepreneur Bob Johnson. Johnson hasbecome well-known throughout the West Michigan community through his business West Michigan Caterer, which started nearly thirty years ago. Johnson views Wine-A-Palooza as an opportunity to unite all wine lovers in a casual and enjoyable atmosphere.

West Michigan Woman is proud to bring you Wine & Wig! Established this year, the annual event will show financial support for a West Michigan philanthropic organization whose mission is dedicated to improving the lives of local women and our community, all while having fun! In 2013, Susan G. Komen West Michigan was selected to receive the proceeds from this event. We are excited to partner with them and their local mission to fight breast cancer!

Downtown Holland will host its first Fourth of July Celebration on Thursday, July 4. More than forty shops, boutiques, galleries, and restaurants will be open for business that day, many of them offering discounts and promotions for the holiday. The popular Street Performer Series will also take place that evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m., with a special appearance by a stilt walker extraordinaire.

Zeeland’s Critter Barn will host the weekly Kids Activities at the Holland Farmers Market Wednesday, June 26, beginning at 10 a.m. During the Kids Activity, children will be invited to hold chicks and pet chickens while they learn all about eggs and the farmers who raise turkeys and chickens for our dinner table. Herrick District Library will kick off the Kids Activities with Market Story Time at 9:30 a.m.
