The butterflies are once again blooming at the Frederik Meijer Gardens and & Sculpture Park annual exhibition. More than 7,000 tropical butterflies have arrived from Africa, Asia, South and Central America. These fluttering beauties await your arrival.

Under the stage direction of Bernard Uzan, Opera Grand Rapids is presenting Roméo and Juliet on Friday, April 29, and Saturday, April 30. Uzan has been nominated for an Emmy for his recent appearance on the hit TV show Mozart in the Jungle. He is a Lifetime Achievement Award recipient widely known for his French voiceovers used in popular American films. Ashley Roberts interviewed Uzan about the upcoming Roméo and Juliet production.

Both men and women experience the effects of breast cancer. Each can be diagnosed with this loathsome disease—but, more often than not, men become intimately familiar with breast cancer when a woman they love receives a diagnosis. In 2014, a group of men combined their voices in an effort to increase breast cancer awareness. These men are The Pink Tie Guys.

At the Grand Rapids Art Museum, 2016 is the Year of the Innovative Woman. All year long, the museum will be filled with a diverse lineup of exhibitions and programming celebrating innovative women artists and entrepreneurs. U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow came to the GRAM to jumpstart this exciting and important yearlong event.

The Muskegon Home, Garden + DIY Show is back, and the 2016 version includes impressive changes! The event will be held at Fricano's Event Center on March 25 and 26, and will feature more than 40 local businesses exhibiting their best home and garden information. Attendees will find an expanded yard and garden section, educational and DIY sections, and celebrity guests.
