Each year, DeVos Place in downtown Grand Rapids is transformed into a multi-brand collective showroom as the Michigan International Auto Show rolls into town. Hundreds of the latest trucks, cars, SUVs, hybrids and electric vehicles—more than 35 brands—are displayed across nearly four acres of space, January 31 through February 3, 2019.
A highlight of this year’s show will be the unveiling of a customized Michigan-themed 2018 Chevy Colorado Z71; designed and equipped to highlight all the Great Lakes State has to offer. Gentex Corporation—the presenting sponsor of the show—has decked out this truck with a crew cab equipped for camping and outdoor adventure, an integrated YETI craft-beer dispenser, a Gentex multi-camera rear vision system and car-to-home automation. The truck also features a custom-designed vehicle wrap that depicts various aspects of the Michigan landscape including the Great Lakes, Pictured Rocks, waterfalls, sand dunes, white pine forests, hiking trails and so much more.
But, that’s not all.
Take a trip down memory lane as you gaze at the classic vehicles on display from Gilmore Car Museum in the Grand Gallery; dream big as you stroll through the Million Dollar Motorway featuring prestigious and opulent brands such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Maserati, McLaren and Rolls Royce among others; fulfill your need for speed (visually, that is) by viewing the high-performance vehicles from Ford, Chevy and Dodge and check out the latest in technology and design with the pre-production vehicles.
And, don’t forget to get your picture taken with Gizmo the Robot or Baxter the Robot; they’ll be wandering the aisles throughout the show just waiting to meet you!
As always, the show kicks off on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 with the exclusive Charity Spectacular Preview—benefitting Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. This is a night-on-the-town you don’t want to miss!
