While traveling, you may occasionally wonder about your environmental impact and what steps business are taking to ensure the longevity of the planet. CityFlatsHotel is right there with you. They have a strong commitment to be an eco-friendly place for you to stay, eat, lay your head, hold that special event and more.

With locations in Grand Rapids, Holland and one soon to open in Port Huron, CityFlatsHotel believes in reducing waste sent to landfills, conserving energy and water and reducing harmful greenhouse emissions—ultimately creating a healthy and safe environment for guests and employees.

Bringing their eco-friendly practices to the forefront, CityFlatsHotel partnered with a local Michigan produce company—Frog Holler—to bring the freshest local ingredients to their CitySēn Lounge menu and events menus. They also take it a step further by donating a tree to nonprofit Plant with Purpose every time a guest decides to forgo room service while visiting.

CityFlatsHotel Holland boasts the title of first hotel in the Midwest to achieve LEED gold certified status in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, with the Grand Rapids hotel reaching the same status shortly after. The soon to be completed Port Huron location, is expected to also be awarded the same status.

The hotel’s innovative room designs vary by location, but many include floor-to-ceiling windows, iPod docking stations, cork flooring, and bamboo linens that are naturally hypoallergenic—creating a comfortable home-away-from-home experience that’s so sought after. Guests can be confident and rest easy knowing their stay is helping to fuel eco-friendly efforts—benefiting us all for years to come.

After all, the earth has been good to us, so let’s return the favor.
