local skin and body care

Has your favorite big brand discontinued your favorite product? Are other products hard to get your hands on? Or do you simply want to purchase a quality product while shopping small? Enter: local skin and body care! Come along as we explore three local brands you should know about.

Enhance: Skin • Beauty • Wellness

Founded by Amanda Martinez, Enhance was born from her experience as a runner, not being able to find a product that helped support the skin through sweat, sun exposure, and long, demanding days. So, she created one! Founded and developed in West Michigan, the brand’s hero product is their Enhance Recovery Spray, a refreshing facial mist designed to help calm, hydrate, and support the skin after workouts, stress, or long days.

“[The Enhance Recovery Spray] is lightweight, easy to keep in a gym bag or purse, and helps reset the skin quickly when you’re on the go,” Martinez said. “My goal is to continue building Enhance here in West Michigan while expanding its reach so more women can experience simple, effective care that supports their lives and goals.”

Fox Naturals

Beginning online and in pop-ups in 2014, Fox Naturals opened their Wealthy St. storefront in 2018, offering ethically sourced, locally made and manufactured plant-based skincare, botanical perfumes, and bath, body & hair care products. Inspired by the herbal knowledge passed on to Owner Patrick Stoffel by his grandmother, the brand focuses particularly on sensitive-skin safe blends, nourishing herbal recipes, and a wide variety of scent options. During the warmer months, their natural deodorants—made with an arrowroot, magnesium, zinc, and charcoal base—truly shine.

“What makes our products special is a mixture of their efficacy, affordability, and customizability,” Stoffel said. “Our skin care is third-party lab tested to ensure safety for even the most sensitive skin types.”

KPS Essentials

Developed and manufactured in Grand Rapids, KPS Essentials focuses on transdermal skincare designed to go beyond the surface to support hydration, collagen production, circulation, and overall skin function at a deeper level. The brand offers both facial and body care systems used by doctors, medical spas, and licensed estheticians, helping bridge the gap between clinical results and everyday skincare. Their Renū Serum line, especially the Eternal Youth Serum, is a standout for facial rejuvenation.

“KPS Transdermal Nutrients are designed to nearly triple skin hydration, restore volume lost from aging, reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles, and target glycation—a key factor that causes skin to stiffen and thicken over time,” said CEO Natalie Novak Bauss. “We focus on restoring skin function rather than relying on temporary or invasive solutions.”
