It's well known that a great music playlist can fuel your workout routine. Also worth trying is fun and fashionable clothing, to motivate your every move. Gina's Boutique owner Gina Van Timmeren found workout wear was a smart addition to her already impressive repertoire of denim, trendy tops and accessories.
"The Mystree brand has been around forever. It's one of my top-selling brands, and they decided to add active wear and loungewear to the line." Van Timmeren fell in love with the brand's great quality, affordable price point and the fact that it had similarities to the popular Lululemon line.
Athleisure clothing is huge right now, and Van Timmeren knew the Mystree pieces would "be a hit." The store will carry a variety of leggings with mesh detailing in the knees or interesting details down the side of the legs. There are also tank tops perfect for the gym that pair well with leggings for a coordinated look. You'll find hoodies and zip-up jackets are easily styled with other items, so you can swap out pieces to mix and match. There's even a sweatshirt that's split up the back, which might be Van Timmeren's favorite.
With workout clothing, activewear and athleisure styles no longer just for the gym—and yoga pants becoming a second skin—women find it easier and easier to fit these looks into their active lifestyles.
"A lot of it has to do with the fact that busy moms or working moms can be comfortable and look presentable—they're comfortable enough to get down on the ground at the zoo, or after working all day, they can come home and put something comfy on or still wear something nice-looking for the weekend."
Gina's Boutique, located at 40 Monroe Center in Grand Rapids, showcases activewear that works for you at the gym and on the street to create a far-reaching athletic wardrobe.
