VAI Curiosity and Cocktails

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

Making the perfect cocktail is a science. Discovering the right balance of flavors, elements and presentation takes creativity, experimentation and inspiration. On August 10, join Van Andel Education Institute (VAEI) for a night of hand-crafted cocktails and scientific discovery at the first annual Curiosity and Cocktails event.

Guests can mix and mingle in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids while enjoying a strolling dinner and cocktails, live entertainment and interactive “curiosity stations.” Relive your childhood science class experiments by participating in hands-on interactive demonstrations—witness or create multiple chemical reactions, take home your DNA, meet VAEI’s giant tortoise Toby and other resident animals, plus more.

The Education Institute is dedicated to strengthening science education through programs that provide hands-on, inquiry-based learning that inspire students to think and act like scientists. VAEI student programs include summer camps, out-of-school cohort programs, High School Journal Club, Science on Saturdays and field experiences.

If you’re curious about innovative science education, or are looking for a unique night out, get your tickets for Curiosity and Cocktails. All proceeds from the event support VAEI’s commitment to creating classrooms where curiosity, creativity and critical thinking thrive.

Curiosity and Cocktails is August 10 from 6–9 P.M. at Van Andel Education Institute. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased at www.vai.org/curiosity.
