Searching for some antique and vintage goods to add to your space? Farmgirl Flea's two-day Spring Market, returning on May 16 and 17, is exactly the place for finding all the antiques, decor, furniture and vintage treasures you could want!

Taking place at the Hudsonville Fairgrounds from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday May 16 and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 17, Farmgirl Flea's Spring Market is an annual opportunity to shop while having a wonderful time with friends and family. Named one of the best Midwest Spring Vintage Fests and Maker Fairs in 2025 by Midwest Living, Farmgirl Flea attracts vendors from all over the U.S. and will feature artisan and thrift goods, antiques, vintages and more.

Organizers emphasize the importance of shopping small and local, and anticipate the annual market will continue to grow as more people look for hidden treasures while promoting eco-friendly practices. Notably, 85% of the vendors in the spring market this year are local to West Michigan.

"Shopping locally is important for so many reasons," said Karen Mead, co-owner of Farmgirl Flea Market Pickers & Makers. "Spending your money in your community supports your local economy and those small businesses that make up your town. You are investing in community relationships and supporting your neighbors.

"Shopping second-hand supports sustainable products and is better for the environment and overall waste. Plus, you find unique items that not everybody has and fit your aesthetic."

In 2024, the handicrafts market reached more than $906 billion and is projected to grow to almost $2 trillion by 2033. In addition to these research findings, we asked Mead about why she thinks Farmgirl Flea's markets continue to attract so many shoppers.

"We are a juried market that finds a great variety of vintage and antiques, artisan handmade, clothing for adults and kids, repurposed and second-hand items, seasonal decor, food and drinks and live music too!" Mead shared. "Our vendors, staff, and promoters work hard to make it a memorable and fun family event for the community."
