As the weather heats up in West Michigan, we are all looking for fun in the sun! What better way to spend your Fourth of July weekend than at the Lakeshore Art Festival in Muskegon. The Lakeshore Art Festival provides a family friendly space where creativity, art, culture and interactive activities thrive.
Recognized as Sunshine Artist Magazine 200 Best!, the Lakeshore Art Festival features a unique blend of arts, crafts, music, food, and fun along the shoreline in historic Downtown Muskegon. This year's event will feature 300 fine art and craft exhibitors, a Children's Lane, festival food favorites, street performers and interactive art for all!
The Lakeshore Art Festival is more than just a craft fair, it’s a celebration of art, beauty, interaction and more! Hackley Park is home to the Fine Art/Fine Craft Exhibitors. The park’s natural grassy landscape features beautiful mature trees, flowering plants and sculptures. The park is a perfect space to exhibit the equally amazing artwork from our Fine Art and Fine Craft artists. The Craft, Artisan Food Market and Children's Lane blanket the newly renovated streets in the heart of downtown. These wide roads feature natural light and gorgeous boulevards to enhance the exhibitors and shoppers enjoyment.
The Lakeshore Art Festival also has many opportunities for both children and adults to show their inner artist. Visitors of the Lakeshore Art Festival are invited to express their creative side with our Community Canvas Project. This unique event will be an interactive painting project consisting of multiple large-scale canvases in which anyone can paint on for free! Hosted by the Muskegon Center for the Arts, the canvases will be for sale and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Family Promise of the Lakeshore. Also, a professional artist from the Create.A.Frame Company will be in the Children's Lane teaching “artists in training” how to paint their very own postcard size canvas and then their masterpiece home!
If that not enough, the Children’s Lane features over 20 booths full of artistic activities for kids to enjoy. Children’s Lane will host an instrument petting zoo where kids can make their own music and see live performances throughout the day, a puppeteer performing puppetry, an acrobatics group demonstrating the art of movement, a petting zoo complete with farm animals and a show with amazing dog tricks, an author, a photographer, educators for healthy eating and so much more (http://lakeshoreartfestival.org/childrens-lane).
As you turn the corners of Lakeshore Art Festival you will find street performers entertaining you with music, belly dancing, yo-yos, juggling, ballooning, beatboxing and more!
Muskegon, Michigan is the place to be this July 1 and 2!
