4 Quick Ways to Stretch Your Kitchen Space
- Simplify! Discard rarely-used or duplicate items. (Be ruthless!) Create a "back-up" storage area elsewhere, if possible.
- Beware of bulk-food monsters. Store only 1-2 weeks of supplies in the kitchen, using this same "back-up" area for extras.
- Avoid piles. If you have to dig through piles of items to retrieve something, invest in a 2-3 tiered shelf that elevates items for easier access.
- Consider adding storage areas, such as cutlery dividers, ceiling-high cabinets (for that extra foot of storage), spice racks, tray dividers, pantries with pull out storage or roll-trays.
Repeat this saying three times: "Just because someone gave it to me, doesn't mean I have to keep it." Are you a bit sentimental about gifts? Don't' feel guilty about getting rid of these things. You did enjoy them for a while.
With a few tips, you can hopefully have "less mess" and "less stress"!
