The Story of West Michigan Woman began in August 2002 with the launch of Serendipity Media, a publishing company rooted in the tour and travel sector. As our business grew, so did our passion for creating meaningful connections. This journey eventually led to the launch of West Michigan Woman in 2012, a publication designed to inspire and support professional women in our community.

A decade later, we're proud to have fostered a space where stories of resilience, growth, and achievement are shared. The Brilliance Awards were born from this mission. These awards celebrate the exceptional talent, spirit, and commitment of those who are dedicated to uplifting others and driving positive change. By recognizing women—and men—who elevate our community and excel in their fields, the Brilliance Awards honor the leaders who inspire us to reach higher.

Join us as we continue to celebrate the brilliance within our community.

Michele Suchovsky was born in the U.P., and after moving around a bit, settled with her family and younger brother in Grand Rapids her junior year of high school. It was during those formative college years that Suchovsky first became familiar with Paws With A Cause (PAWS) through a friend who had a PAWS dog, named WAGER.
