Women of Achievement & Courage in Healthcare – West Michigan

Tammy Born Huizenga, DO, is the 2014 Women of Achievement & Courage in Healthcare – West Michigan honoree in the Medical and Professional category. The awards were established in 1990 to honor and recognize women whose accomplishments inspire others to achieve their life goals and undertake challenges making a positive difference for individuals, communities, and Michigan.

“I am grateful to be included in this amazing group of talented women. I have enjoyed serving my patients and I continue to be passionate about finding new ways to help people. It's a wonderful job!” said Dr. Born. “Being honored with these other dedicated women encourages me to continue developing better strategies for healthy lives. I'm thankful to the committee who chose me for this honor.”

Dr. Born owns and operates Born Preventive Health Care Clinic, which she joined in 1987, with her husband and clinic founder, the late Grant Born, DO. She received her undergraduate degree from Calvin College and graduated in 1986 from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Born holds board certifications in family practice and is certified in Clinical Heavy Metal Toxicity.
