President & Founder | Ward Aviation

Growing up with a grass landing strip in his front yard and a professional pilot as his father, it’s not surprising that Mark Ward developed a lifelong passion for private aviation. Graduating from Western Michigan University with a degree in aircraft management, Ward currently holds type ratings covering more than 20 different models of business jets and is dedicated to guiding the growth of Ward Aviation and delivering tailored private aviation solutions while maintaining the highest standards of quality, service, and safety.

Ward is proud that one third of his pilot staff at Ward Aviation are women (compared to the 5-6% industry norm), and half of his corporate and leadership staff are also women. A believer in removing barriers for women to grow and thrive in their careers, Ward and his company also invest in women in the aviation industry by ensuring opportunities for training and development, mentorship for women in college, offering valuable flight time, networking, and more.

“For [men] in a leadership role, examine your culture and core values. Remove barriers [for women], create opportunities, be intentional, and invest in professional development.”
