West Michigan Woman magazine is seeking a charity partner for Wine & Wig 2014, through a proposal and voting process. West Michigan Woman Wine & Wig was established in 2013 to show financial support for a West Michigan philanthropic organization whose mission is in line with one of Serendipity Cares’ three pillars of giving—Education, Women’s Health, and Community Development—all while having fun!
On October 12, 2013, West Michigan Woman magazine hosted the inaugural Wine & Wig gala. Susan G. Komen West Michigan was chosen as the charity partner for 2013. Attendees gathered for this unique evening of food and wine pairings, a silent auction, and—of course—wigs at the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM). Through ticket sales, sponsorships, and the silent auction, West Michigan Woman magazine was able to raise approximately $15,000 for Susan G. Komen West Michigan.
Serendipity Cares and West Michigan Woman magazine intend to support many organizations in our community. Through a proposal and voting process, we seek a new charity partner for the 2014 event, to be held on October 18 at the GRAM. If a charity wishes to be considered, it needs to follow the proposal guidelines and submit its information by December 20, 2013. Serendipity Cares will narrow the field to the top charities and will facilitate a voting process, open to our readers and followers of West Michigan Woman, in January 2014.
