Cherry Health’s Sheldon Clubhouse has partnered with local businesses for its annual “Breaking the Label” fashion show on March 18. The theme of this year’s event—taking place at 6 p.m. at Sheldon Clubhouse in Grand Rapids—is “True Colors,” which celebrates the individuality, strength, and vibrant stories of Sheldon Clubhouse members.
In partnership with Michelle Krick Style, fashion expert, wardrobe stylist, and personal shopper, and with styling and event support provided by Gild the Lily Consignment and other local boutiques, this inspiring event aims to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness while raising funds to enhance support for members on their mental health journey. The evening will feature Clubhouse members as many of the models, along with local celebrities, a silent auction, dining and entertainment, all in support of a meaningful cause.
For over 30 years, Sheldon Clubhouse has been a mental health program of Cherry Health, affiliated with Clubhouse International. As a member-driven mental health community, Sheldon Clubhouse supports individuals living with serious mental illness—helping people move from isolation to connection, and from mental illness toward mental wellness.

“Mental health is part of all of us,” said Tara VanDyke, Associate Director of Clubhouse Programs at Cherry Health. “This event brings our community together to create access, connection, and belonging for people living with mental illness. Every ticket sold directly supports Sheldon Clubhouse members—helping fund daily meals, employment and education opportunities, and a community where people don’t have to face mental illness alone.
“This runway represents more than fashion—it represents courage, inclusion, and hope,” she continued. “Our community truly cares about mental health, and that shows in the incredible community members who volunteered to walk the runway alongside Clubhouse members. It will be a powerful evening—lifting stigma, celebrating community, and honoring the true colors each person brings.”
The fundraising event will include a dinner and fashion show. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased online here.
