Market Masters

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

Are you an Iron Chef fan? Are you amazed when a far-flung secret ingredient is suddenly transformed into ice cream? If you've answered yes, you will enjoy "Market Masters," the Grand Rapids Downtown Market version of this culinary competition.

On June 24, the Grand Rapids Downtown Market is holding its first-ever "Market Masters" contest. KitchenAid is presenting the competition that will pit four teams of Downtown Market chefs against each other.

During three timed rounds, each team of chefs will be given a secret ingredient that must be incorporated into an appetizer, main course or dessert. Local celebrity judges will then rate each team's efforts. Only one winner will be named "Market Master."

Mike Huie, Global Kitchenware Director from KitchenAid said, "We were thrilled to sponsor this event knowing it will cater to that passionate group that speaks the same language of handcrafted food like we do, loves the enjoyment found in cooking like we do, and recognizes the importance of giving back to the community like we do."

Competition attendees can sip a glass of bubbly and munch on delicious Downtown Market appetizers. The event's proceeds will benefit the Downtown Market Education Foundation, which supports culinary and nutritional education, entrepreneur opportunities and local food production with the goal of creating a healthier community lifestyle. The Foundation supports access to and the promotion of fresh healthy foods for all, including disadvantaged families and children.

Market Masters will take place on Friday, June 24, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Click here to purchase tickets to this action-packed event! This competition is a great way to get to know some of Grand Rapids' chefs.
