February is National Black History Month. This annual celebration honors the achievements of black Americans and recognizes the key role these individuals played in U.S. history. Many West Michigan organizations have arranged events that will take place throughout this important month. The Miller Johnson law firm has organized two such events.
The attorneys at Miller Johnson believe "strong communities mean strong business." One way this belief is demonstrated is through the firm's "Day of Service." Each Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Miller Johnson attorneys and staff volunteer their time in support of nonprofit organizations in Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo.
Another way this firm supports important causes is by sponsoring the 9th Annual Grand Rapids Legacy Luncheon and Ball. Both the Legacy Luncheon and the Legacy Ball will be held Friday, February 26, 2016, at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and the JW Marriott Grand Rapids, respectively. Black History is Everybody's History: Grand Rapids Legacy Luncheon and Ball
In recognition of National Black History Month, the 9th Annual Grand Rapids Legacy Luncheon and Ball will be held Friday, February 26, 2016. Miller Johnson invites your organization to participate and support the Legacy Luncheon at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and the Grand Rapids Legacy Ball, held at the JW Marriott.
Scholarship recipients, community leaders and business partners will all be celebrated at these events. You will leave enriched, enlightened and joyfully connected. The Legacy Ball has expanded, also taking place in Detroit and Kalamazoo, Michigan. Many black-owned businesses help make these events a reality.
During the past eight years, the Legacy Ball has awarded more than $55,000 in student scholarships and has honored outstanding community leaders and business partners.
The Legacy Ball will include a dinner menu especially crafted by the JW Marriott head chef, lively entertainment, a community award ceremony and a VIP network reception. Attendees will also receive a commemorative booklet.
