GR Restaurant Week: August 12 – 23

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

Taste the City: Experience a variety of earth-to-table menu creations from 60 restaurants.

Restaurant Week Grand Rapids 2015 will take place Wednesday, August 12, through Sunday, August 23—the peak of the summer harvest in West Michigan.

Restaurant Week Grand Rapids celebrates the Greater Grand Rapids culinary scene, offering the public an opportunity to "Taste the City" and explore new restaurants. Sixty restaurants participating in the event have created unique 3-course menus not on their regular menu and featuring an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. The majority are offering their special menu for $28, while a handful are offering dinner for two people for $28. All menus showcase the creativity of local chefs, who have designed distinctive menus highlighting local seasonal ingredients.

Founders Brewing Company will assist participating restaurants in pairing menu items with Founders' beers. Great Lakes Wine and Spirits has secured the international Italian label Ruffino and Michigan's favorite Black Star Farms to help restaurants pair their wines with menu selections.

There is also a philanthropic twist to Restaurant Week: "We are proud to be able to contribute funding for Secchia Institute for Culinary Education during Restaurant Week Grand Rapids," said Doug Small, Experience Grand Rapids president. "Throughout the 12-day event, each restaurant donates $1 from every Restaurant Week meal sold to the Restaurant Week Grand Rapids Student Scholarship Fund at GRCC. The fund, over five years, has raised almost $100,000 from which numerous scholarships have been awarded."
