Love Ludington Weekend kicks off in unforgettable fashion with On Deck, A Special Evening Aboard The Historic SS Badger on Thursday, June 5, from 7:30 - 10 p.m. While the ship remains docked in Ludington, guests can explore areas not open during regular sailings, take in stunning harbor views, and enjoy a vibrant atmosphere filled with live music and culinary tastings from some of downtown's favorite restaurants. Hosted by the Friends of Ludington Police, the event blends community spirit with a great cause—raising funds and awareness for the Lakeshore Children's Advocacy Center, which supports children and families impacted by abuse and trauma in Mason County and beyond.
On Friday, the excitement builds with the lively Love Ludington Street Party taking over the heart of downtown. Think: live music, food vendors, family activities, and dancing in the street. Local shops stay open late, and the whole town comes alive for this feel-good summer celebration. And the best part? It's free and open to the public!
Saturday kicks off with a bit of feel-good fun at the Beach Clean-Up at Stearns Park Beach. Visitors can lend a hand in keeping Ludington's crown jewel pristine while enjoying lake breezes and camaraderie with fellow beach lovers. In the afternoon, the 7th Annual Blessing of the Boats takes place from 4 - 10 p.m. at the West End of Ludington Avenue overlooking Lake Michigan. This lakeside tradition honors Ludington's maritime heritage with a symbolic blessing for safe travels for vessels of all sizes, plus a festive gathering featuring live music and local beer. Proceeds support the Port of Ludington Maritime Museum, helping to preserve the region's rich nautical history through exhibits, education and community programs.
Classic car lovers, rejoice! Saturday brings the Back to the Bricks Car Show to downtown Ludington. From vintage cruisers to custom builds, this event will fill South James Street with more than 200 automotive eye candy and plenty of nostalgia.
