The Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the top ten finalists for the ATHENA Young Professional Award, which will be celebrated on Thursday, September 12 at the ATHENA Award Celebration. The ATHENA Young Professional Award recognizes an emerging leader for their contributions to community, professional excellence, and commitment to serve as a personal and professional role model to young women.
“The ATHENA Young Professional nominees have all been instrumental in creating a vibrant and attractive culture in West Michigan,” said Mindy Ysasi of Herman Miller and 2012 ATHENA Young Professional Award recipient. “Their experiences and passions are reflective of the opportunities that exist in the region.”

"These ATHENA Young Professional Nominees reflect entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, strong commitment, and engagement in the community, and they all embrace the ATHENA tenets of leadership,” noted Dr. Jacqueline Taylor of Pondera Advisors, LLC and member of the ATHENA Award Selection Committee. “We recognize them for the leadership they are already providing, and feel that they are the young leaders of today who will frame and forge the vision for tomorrow."
The selected award recipient will be named from among the top ten finalists. The announcement will be part of the ATHENA Award Celebration set for Thursday, September 12 at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, 187 Monroe Ave. NW. The top ten ATHENA Young Professional Award finalists will be honored along with Grand Rapids business leader and The Charter Group’s Vice President of Client Management, Jeanne Englehart, the 2013 ATHENA Award recipient, during the luncheon that begins at 11:30 a.m.
