National and Local Acts to Be Featured at Downtown Holland GrooveWalk

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

On Saturday, April 20, a diverse lineup of thirteen bands will perform live in thirteen different restaurants, pubs, and other establishments throughout downtown Holland, as part of the spring GrooveWalk event. By purchasing a single wristband for just $15, patrons could see all of the bands performing at the participating venues, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The lineup for GrooveWalk includes a number of national touring acts, including soul musician Andy Frasco from Los Angeles, California, and hip-hop group Sophistafunk, from Syracuse, New YorkUp-and-coming Midwest bands will also be featured, including rock ‘n rollers Blue Moon Revue and jam band Cheter Brown, both from Indiana. West Michigan favorites Funktion, Eddy and The Breakers, and DJ Colin Clive are also among the artists performing at GrooveWalk.

For the first time ever, wristbands for the event are available for purchase online at www.groovewalk.com. Wristbands may also be purchased in person at the Curragh Irish Pub (73 East 8th Street). There are a limited number of wristbands available for the event, so get yours before they sell out! Admittance to all GrooveWalk venues is restricted to those ages twenty-one and up. Wristbands will only be available at the door the night of the event if not sold out by that time.

Once they have purchased a GrooveWalk wristband, designated drivers could also receive a free designated driver wristband that entitles them to complimentary nonalcoholic beverages, such as soft drinks and coffee, at all venues. The designated driver wristbands will be available at the Curragh and may also be obtained at the door at all venues the night of the event. Designated drivers must be at least twenty-one years old to enter each venue. Taxi service will also be available throughout the evening, thanks to Classic Macatawa Taxi, Last Call Ministries, and Rosebud Taxi.

To ensure no one misses a single band during the four-hour event, six GrooveXpress MAX Transit buses will make a continuous loop throughout downtown Holland, from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., stopping at convenient locations near all GrooveWalk venues. Buses are free to ride with a wristband, and will feature onboard entertainment by local acoustic musicians, including Greg Hulsebos, Troy Kaley, Doug Peterson, Randy Schaap, and Keith Scott.

The Little Black Booth photo booth will be located at the VFW Post 2144 during the event, for attendees to capture their memories of the greatest night of live music that downtown Holland has ever seen.
