American Cancer Society Announces Finish The Bite Event

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

On May 22, 2013, your American Cancer Society will celebrate its one hundredth birthday—one hundred years of savings lives. Join in and help make some noise! On Wednesday, May 22, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at West Michigan Caterer (located at Centennial Country Club), the Finish The Bite cupcake competition will help Finish the Fight against cancer.

Finish The Bite will feature bakers from across West Michigan who will compete with mini cupcakes or cake pops in three categories: People's Choice, Judge's Choice, and Most Creative Display. On the judging panel are Terry DeBoer of Wood TV 8, Bob Johnson of West Michigan Caterer, and Jason Kakabaker from The Cakabakery.

For a $20 admission price, guests will enjoy free samples from all of the bakers and have one vote for the People's Choice award. Guests will also enjoy cash bar, cash food stations, and an opportunity to make some noise to Finish the Fight against cancer.

For more information on the event or to purchase tickets, visit discoverballgr.com, the Facebook page at "American Cancer Society Discovery Ball Grand Rapids," or the Twitter feed @DiscoveryBallGR. For questions and additional information, contact Kyle Amanda Dutkiewicz, specialist of distinguished events, at 616-551-4034 or [email protected].

"As the official sponsor of birthdays, the American Cancer Society knows how important it is to celebrate every victory," said Bob Johnson, owner of West Michigan Caterer. "Finish The Bite  is a way for our community to come together and make some noise on the one hundredth birthday of the American Cancer Society."
