Applications are now available for the 2013 ATHENA Scholarship program of the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. This unique scholarship program, part of the Chamber’s ATHENA Award program, is for women aged thirty or older who are working to complete a degree program at an accredited college or university. Women can choose to use ATHENA Scholarship funds for whatever helps them achieve their degree, whether that’s tuition and books or transportation and child care expenses.
Applications are available on the Chamber’s website at www.grandrapids.org/athena. ATHENA Scholarships are funded through corporate donations, sponsorship of the ATHENA Award luncheon (which will take place September 12, 2013), and through private contributions.
This is the thirteenth year of the scholarship program. Since the ATHENA scholarship began, more than $40,000 has been awarded to deserving women in the Grand Rapids area.
