Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters' Saturday Experience began as a way to give friends and family members a chance to sample different coffee and blends and give feedback to improve roasting and blending skills. The store is open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to the public for these coffee roasting demonstrations. Some customers have worked on their own personal blends while others are turning into self-described "coffee snobs." Although Grand Rapids Coffee Roasters is a roastery, not a coffee shop, they are making the coffee sampling experience comfortable as well as memorable. To do so, the store has tables, chairs, and even a "mug club" so that customers may enjoy your coffee in an eclectic coffee mug.
Feel free to bring in any clean coffee mug to add to the ever-growing collection. There is also have free wireless internet so computer geeks are welcome too. Our Saturday Experience includes at least three brewed coffee samples for you to try as well as espresso shots and Americano's and on special days, free chocolate samples from Awesome Chocolates.
We will custom roast any of our Select Single Origin coffees so that you may take them home right out of the roaster while the beans are still warm. The Saturday Specials start at $19.50 for a two pound bag, $29.25 for a three pound bag, and $47.50 for a five pound bag. Another customer favorite is the store's Gourmet Flavored Coffees. These can be purchased fresh roasted for $24 for a two pound bag, $36 for a three bag, and $57.50 for a five pound bag (see website for available flavors). The Saturday Experience² = Premium Specialty Teas
Another feature of our Saturday Experience is the tea tasting station. We currently have thirty premium loose leaf teas available for tasting a cup at a time. We will prepare for you a fresh cup of tea while describing in detail the ingredients and proper brewing process all for a nominal fee of $2 which is all donated to the Humane Society of West Michigan. We stock a nice assortment Green, Black, White, Rooibos, Oolong, Herbal, Dark, and Puerh teas. Stop in and try one of our outstanding teas today!
