CityScene-TownerThe Holland Area Arts Council is kicking off 2012 with galleries full of new exhibits.
Trees: A Closer Look. The Etchings of Ladislav Hanka and Sculpture of Marcia Perry
Is a combination of work by internationally recognized Kalamazoo based printmaker Ladislav Hanka and Saugatuck sculptor Marcia Perry. The two have shown work together recently in South Haven and this exhibit promises another well stitched revealing of their deep respect and admiration for the sacred tree motif.

This exhibit will be available for public viewing in the Barbara Padnos Gallery and Amanda Jane Armstrong Gallery from January 9 through February 25.

Letting Paint Be Paint: Splashes, Drips and Smears offers a collaboration between three painters: Christine Towner, Michele Gort and Emerson Schreiner. All three are local painters associated with the Washington Square Gallery in Holland, Michigan. With an emphasis on expression, the artists invite the viewer to join them in a celebration and exploration of the physical qualities of the medium.

This exhibit will be available for public viewing in the Mainstreet Gallery and Lievense Gallery from January 9 through February 25.

An artists’ opening reception will be held in the galleries Thursday, January 12th from 6pm to 8pm. This event is free and open to the public.
