Eat, Drink and Be Merry at St. Cecilia Music Center

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

Music lovers can raise their glasses for a good cause at the "Eat. Drink. Be Merry!" fundraiser, hosted by St. Cecilia Music Center (SCMC) in partnership with Martha's Vineyard. The annual spring wine tasting event—taking place Saturday, April 22 from 6 – 9 p.m. at St. Cecilia Music Center—will offer guests tasting on all three floors of St. Cecilia Music Center's historic building.

Those in attendance will have the chance to mingle while tasting over 100 different wines at a range of price points, enjoying heavy hors d'oeuvres from Martha's Catering, and bidding on great silent auction items—all set to live music by jazz trio The Mood Swings.

Cathy Holbrook, SCMC Executive and Artistic Director, says the event has been successful in bringing people together for a fun evening and raising funds for SCMC programming since the event's inception with Martha's Vineyard 13 years ago. All proceeds from "Eat. Drink. Be Merry!" benefit St. Cecilia Music Center's mission-based programming in the community.

"The funds help support the programming at SCMC including our Presenting Series, which brings world-renowned chamber, jazz and folk musicians to SCMC, our School of Music outreach programs which include after school orchestras, summer camps and music education outreach into the community, as well as the preservation of our historic building," Holbrook said.

Holbrook also gave some insight into the silent auction items guests could expect to find at the event.

"The silent auction will include 'priceless' items that you cannot purchase anywhere else, such as a private catered dinner by Tommy Fitzgerald; a dinner for 10 people prepared by community hero Eddie Tadlock hosted on the patio of the historic Fitzgerald building with live music; a Pinot, Pizza and Pontoon Party at the cottage of Dan and Lisa Verhil and a Fondue Party catered in your home," Holbrook said. "There will also be concert tickets to local arts organizations, restaurant gift cards and great wine up for bid."

Tickets for "Eat. Drink. Be Merry!" are $65 and may be purchased in advance at scmcgr.org or by calling St. Cecilia Music Center at 616.459.2224. Tickets are limited, so the public is encouraged to get their tickets early.
