When Kasie Smith, President and Publisher of West Michigan Woman, was nominated for the 2016 class of Top Women in Media by Folio Magazine, she walked away thinking, "We need to do this in West Michigan."

"People who are recognized are typically at the pinnacle of their careers," Smith said. "But there are women doing great work at all levels and in all fields."
This year, the first-ever West Michigan Woman Brilliance Awards are shining a light on the dynamic talent, spirit and intellect of local women at all career levels—celebrating the impact they've had on the community.
Finalists for the 10 distinctive Brilliance Awards categories have been announced. Each nominee excels in his or her field, elevates other females leaders and demonstrates a commitment to positive community change.
