Single tickets are now available for all concerts in the St. Cecilia Music Center 2016 – 2017 season. The first concerts of the season will be the first to showcase the extensive $2.4 million renovation of St. Cecilia Music Center's historic building.
Renovations in St. Cecilia Music Center's performance hall, Royce Auditorium, include new seats and upgraded professional sound and lighting systems. The total building renovation includes extensive improvements in many areas of the 122-year old historic building, including HVAC, safety and security, and ADA upgrades; installation of energy efficient lighting; remodeling of the box office and lobby; and other major improvements throughout the infrastructure.
The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Series
The Chamber Music Society will launch the first concert of St. Cecilia's new season on November 10, 2016. In the program Destination Vienna with Works by Mozart, Brahams and Schoenberg, co-artistic director and cellist David Finckel will perform with violinists Sean Lee and Alexander Sitkovestky, violists Matthew Lipman and Richard O'Neill, and cellist Keith Robinson.
Tickets for the entire Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Series include appearances on January 26 and Marc 16, 2017.
Acoustic Café Series
Renowned singer-songwriter Langhorne Slim will perform solo on November 17, 2016, to kick off the Acoustic Café Series. After Slim's album The Spirit Moves was released in 2015, The Boston Globe commented: "Slim is more reflective now, his banjo-driven rock-folk-pop hybrid [has] increased in artistry and depth." Tickets for Langhorne Slim are on sale now for $25 and $30.
Three additional concerts in the Acoustic Café Series for the 2016 – 2017 season will be announced as dates are confirmed.
St. Cecilia Music Center's Jazz Series
The 2016 – 2017 St. Cecilia Music Center's Jazz Series will bring 2015 Grammy Award-winning jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant on December 8, 2016; 13-year old Jazz Pianist Prodigy Joey Alexander on March 23, 2017; and the San Francisco Jazz Collective (SFJAZZ Collective) on May 4, 2017.
