Saugatuck Center for the Arts to Host Miriam Picó

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

Immerse yourself in the folk, jazz, and pop music stylings of Traverse City based singer/songwriter Miriam Picó at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts, on August 3.

The Summer in the Studio concert will be held in the Saugatuck Center for the Arts' intimate, 55-seat performance studio at 8 p.m. Tickets for the show are $15, and can be purchased at sc4a.org or by calling 269.857.2399.

Picó is the winner of the Northern Express' "Best Solo Artist" award and Traverse magazine's "Red Hot Best Singer/Songwriter." A native of Puerto Rico who started singing at age 11, Picó plays 200 shows a year. She has performed all over Michigan, as well as in Chicago, New York, Indiana, Ohio, Seattle, Key West, and Puerto Rico. In her 20 years as a professional musician, Picó has opened for Rosie O'Donnell, played the part of Eva Peron in Evita at the Old Town Playhouse, and hosts the UpNorth TV variety show Picnic at the Opera.

CD Baby describes Miriam Picó's style as "John Mayer meets Eva Cassidy in a Puerto Rican Blues bar ... very eclectic (with) lots of beautiful melodies." Picó has released three independent CDs: City Dreams (2005), I Am Myself (2010), and Travel Happy (May 2015).
