While the weather outside seems unpredictable this winter, you can count on the Ottawa County Parks Nature Education Center to offer plenty of fun activities! The Nature Education Center is within Hemlock Crossing Park at 8115 West Olive Road in West Olive.
Sunday Family Hours: Bring your clan for a fun-filled family hour every Sunday at the Nature Education Center within Hemlock Crossing Park. These indoor-outdoor programs begin at 2 p.m. Register at least two days in advance by calling 616.786.4847 and pay only $1 per child. Late registrants or walk-ins (space permitting) pay $2 per child. Programs vary, but incorporate a story, hike, craft, or hands-on activity. Sunday family hours are best suited for groups with children ages five and older. At your discretion, younger children may enjoy the program with extra assistance and supervision from their caregivers.

Wildlife Encounters: How much do you really know about the animals living in Ottawa County? These thirty-minute mixed-media presentations on Saturdays at 3 p.m. will help you develop appreciation for the wildlife found in your own backyards. The programs in this series are free and include an optional guided hike following each presentation.
