Go Red for Women

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

CityScene-Go Red for WomenA Luncheon sponsored by Go Red for Women will be held on Friday, February 24 from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Noto's Old World Italian Dining & Banquet/Conference Facility.

The event kicks off with a series of lectures. From 9:30-10:30 a.m., breakout sessions will allow attendees to learn how to live a longer, healthier life. From 10 a.m.-12 p.m., bid on items from local merchants in a silent auction. A medical panel will speak on heart-health from 10:30-11 a.m., and from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. keynote speaker Dr. George S. Abela will give a lecture on heart disease and stroke risk.

Abela is a clinician scientist and Professor of Medicine, Chief of the Cardiology Division and Director for the Cardiology Fellowship Training Program at Michigan State University. His prior work at Harvard Medical School has led to an enhanced understanding of plaque disruption, and how cholesterol causes heart attacks and strokes.

Go Red for Women is an organization dedicated to raising awareness and reducing the rate of women's heart disease and strokes.
