During the past year and a half, Deb underwent two heart surgeries at the young age of 48 and 49 respectively for blocked arteries and an aortic aneurysm that developed as a direct result of her putting her family first verses the cost of the medication for herself. A very caring person, Deb has two biological children who are grown and three children who range in age from 13 to 5 that she and her husband adopted. Each child has his/her own challenges (ADHD, anger, fetal alcohol syndrome, etc.) and require doctor visits, special needs care, and learning strategies. Deb continues to put her needs last when it comes to this family. She’s generous, positive and creative—qualities that rub off on everyone she meets. She is a special woman and deserves to win this award to be treated in a special way. With her fiftieth birthday coming up in October, this would be a wonderful way to honor her as a remarkable woman and mother.
