The Premier Party of Breast Cancer Awareness Month Raises $161,412 in Six Years

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., November 14, 2018—The 6th annual Wine & Wig event—a fundraiser for four local breast cancer charities—raised $30,000 this year. The premier party of Breast Cancer Awareness Month once again joined forces with Komen Michigan, the American Cancer Society, Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids and the Van Andel Institute for a fun-filled night of fundraising while wearing wigs as a sign of solidarity for those going through breast cancer treatment.

Since the event started six years ago, West Michigan Woman has raised $161,412 to fund research, diagnostic, treatment and emotional support. The money is distributed through Serendipity Cares, the 501(c)(3) philanthropic arm of West Michigan Woman’s publisher, Serendipity Media, LLC.

“Wine & Wig presents an opportunity that no other event does—the opportunity to come together to support four local breast cancer organizations in one place—for one cause.”—Kasie Smith, President and Publisher of West Michigan Woman magazine.
