GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., October 20, 2017—Wine & Wig 2017 raised a record $46,200 to support four local breast cancer charities during the 5th annual event. Each charity— Komen Michigan, the American Cancer Society, Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids and the Van Andel Institute—received $11,550 each to support their efforts to fight breast cancer.
Since the event started, it has raised $132,000. This money will fund items like mammograms, transportation to treatment, grief counseling and the development of new therapies through research. The money is distributed through Serendipity Cares, the 501(c)(3) philanthropic arm of Serendipity Media, LLC, which publishes West Michigan Woman.
No other event brings these charities together—making Wine & Wig the perfect and only opportunity to draw attention to all the local breast cancer organizations at one time, in one place.
