Director of Workforce Development, West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology

Renida Clark is dedicated to creating equitable access to opportunity. As Director of Workforce Development at the West Michigan Center for Arts + Technology, she spearheaded WMCAT’s tuition-free Adult Career Training Cybersecurity pathway, training under and unemployed Kent County residents for thriving-wage tech careers. In its first year, the program achieved a 92% graduation rate, with most graduates earning $60-$100K annually after graduation. It has since expanded; creating economic opportunity, diversifying the tech talent pipeline, and ensuring that the professionals safeguarding our data reflect the vibrancy of our communities.

Beyond WMCAT, Renida contributes to several initiatives, including The Right Place’s Tech Talent Subcommittee, Thrive and Prosper Workforce Development Team, and the Kent County Essential Needs Task Force. She also serves as a board member for Girls on the Run West Michigan. Through her leadership and advocacy, Renida has empowered countless individuals to find value in their lived experiences, leverage social capital, and drive meaningful change in their communities.

Renida says, “Representation matters. Just as my mother’s hard work opened doors for me, and a Black woman in leadership showed me the power of my voice, I now do the same—because leadership isn’t just about succeeding; it’s about paving the way for others to thrive.”
