2026 Taste of Hope Ambassadors

American Cancer Society Taste of Hope Ambassador: Candace Morris
When Candace Morris was diagnosed with Stage Four Neuroendocrine Carcinoma in January 2025, she said it shook her whole world.
The mother of five was 42 at the time and said the first year of diagnosis and treatment was really scary, but she has managed with the support of her husband and children, who have grown even closer since her diagnosis.

American Cancer Society Taste of Hope Ambassador: Theresa DeVries
Theresa DeVries was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018 after she found a large lump that a 3-D mammogram could not detect due to having dense breasts.
“I remember my oncologist saying, ‘You have the cancer with big personality.’ It was HER2 positive,” Theresa said.

American Cancer Society Taste of Hope Ambassador: Stephanie Snyder
In 2020, Stephanie Snyder was 36 years old and managing Ulcerative Colitis. As part of her ongoing care, she needed a routine colonoscopy to renew her medication. Her doctor told her she could wait until April to have the procedure done. But for some reason, she immediately asked, "Can I do it before the end of the year so it falls under this deductible?"
The strange part is she didn't even have a deductible to meet.

American Cancer Society Taste of Hope Ambassador: Clay Powell
For years, Clay Powell knew of a cyst on his right kidney. It would show up in testing, but it was fairly small.
“Unfortunately, at the time I chose not to get further testing and my physician did not insist,” he said.
A few days prior to his retirement in January 2023, an ultrasound was performed to diagnose suspected gallbladder issues.

American Cancer Society Taste of Hope Ambassador: Tammy Myers
Tammy Myers was just 33 years old, with a two-year-old daughter and dreams of growing her family, when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. What followed was a bilateral mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and more than 25 surgeries over the years.
Treatment saved Tammy’s life, but cancer changed far more than her health. It took away her ability to carry another pregnancy and altered the future she and her husband, Jordan, had imagined for their family.
