The Let Their Voice Be Heard Girls Choral Academy Benefit Gala acknowledges Jean's many contributions to the area, her giving spirit, her delightful sense of being, and her outstanding philanthropic efforts. At this year's benefit we will award Jean the 2012 Giving Girls a Voice Achievement Award. The benefit will be held on November 7 at 7 p.m. at the University Club of Grand Rapids. The evening sparkles with entertainment by Creative Edge Productions featuring Larry Young, Kelly Carey, and CiCi Gramer in the show Broadway Our Way.
The gala begins with a private gathering for sponsors, followed by dinner and the show, and culminates in an elegant reception, meet and greet, and indulgent desserts.
Touching and transforming lives, Girls Choral Academy is serving more than seven hundred fifty West Michigan children this year. Using music to make a difference, girls and boys are growing in self-esteem and self-confidence, honing musical skills and enriching math and reading competencies.

On Wednesday, November 7 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., the Grand Rapids Community Foundation Presents Can Chocolate Kisses Cure Chemo-Brain? a giving back event of WISE, and one of the most popular events of the year. This year, ticket proceeds will benefit Gilda's Club of West Michigan. Terry Kilpatrick, author of So You Survived Cancer, Now What? will share her list of cancers' gifts. Terry will expound on the challenges survivors of cancer often face and how employers and loved ones can help in their transition.
