Ways to Embrace Pantone’s Color of the Year

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

As they've done each year since 1999, PANTONE has announced the color of the year for 2024 (13-1023 Peach Fuzz). The shade is described by PANTONE as, "a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul," and encourages people to "embrace the warmth."

Doesn't sound too bad this time of year!

Let's take a look at some ways you could incorporate this shade into your life as we take on 2024.

Through your nails.
Expressing yourself through your nail color and art is a fun, low-commitment way to try out a trend or color. When it comes to colors within the Peach Fuzz family, nail polish options abound. Try this OPI shade in "Crawfishin' for a Compliment" or this Olive & June quick dry polish in "Melon." Both colors are pretty close to the exact Peach Fuzz shade and are sure to inject some sunshine into your day.

With your lip and cheek color.
Peach Fuzz is a shade often found in various makeup items, so incorporating the color into your daily makeup routine shouldn't be too hard. In addition, it's a shade that's versatile enough to go from casual to full glam, all while being very wearable for everyday use. Our suggestions include Dior Addict Lip Glow in "Coral," MERIT Shade Slick Tinted Lip Oil in "Jeté," Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Liquid Blush in "Virtue," and Benefit Cosmetics WANDERful World Silky-Soft Powder Blush in "Peachin."

Rocking a statement piece.
Peach Fuzz can find its way into your wardrobe in small yet bold ways (think: accessories, clothing, jewelry, etc.). And don't be afraid to try something new! Get some mod-inspired shades, like the Twiggy Eco from Reality Eyewear, the Newbie Baguette Vegan Leather Shoulder Bag from House of Want, or the Sinclair Flatform Boots in Peach Leather from Dr Martens. You could even add some Peach Fuzz to your running regiment, thanks to this Hoka Bondi 8 colorway.

In your home decor.
Let this cheery color of the year inspire your space at home! PANTONE makes it easy by having official collaborations with Ruggable (washable rugs) and Spoonflower (wallpaper, fabric and other home décor). Of course, vintage pieces also add character to a space, so consider browsing sites like Etsy or perusing local shops for that perfect peachy item. Your kitchen could also get in on the fun, thanks to this Figmint 5.5qt Enamel Dutch Oven. And if you create your own art, challenge yourself to incorporate the Peach Fuzz shade into your works this year!
