No matter where in West Michigan you’re spending the Fourth of July, there are great events and fireworks! Happy “ooh-ing” and “aah-ing”!
East Grand Rapids
East Grand Rapids’ celebration starts with a parade at noon, followed by a party in John Collins Park on Reeds Lake, 750 Lakeside Drive, with musical entertainment, inflatables, games, airbrush tattoos, balloon animals, and concessions. Highlighting the celebration is a water ski show by Dare Devil Circus, on Reeds Lake. Hark Up will play through the evening until the start of the fireworks, at dusk.
Grand Haven
Grand Haven’s fireworks are launched at dusk over the channel. Whether viewed from downtown, Grand Haven State Park, or the Grand Haven City Beach, they are monumental.
Grand Rapids
Music, entertainment, family-friendly activities, food, and vendors’ exhibits from mid-afternoon until evening will be in Ah-Nab-Awen Park, 303 Pearl St. NW in Grand Rapids, adjacent to the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum. The music and performance lineup for the 2015 event, Saturday, July 4, includes The Holland American Legion Band, Upstage Blues Band, Tyler Howe Band, and Pop Cult. The entertainment is from 5:30 to 10 p.m. Fireworks will begin at approximately 10:30 p.m.
Holland
Celebrations begin at 1 p.m. with kids’ games, vendors, a live martial arts demonstration, and live music at Kollen Park & Heinz Waterfront Walkway, 240 Kollen Park Drive, Holland, culminating at dusk with fireworks over Lake Macatawa to the sounds of live music.
Muskegon
Music and art festivals add to Muskegon’s 4th of July celebration, including fireworks at dusk over Heritage Landing.
Saugatuck/Douglas
The 1 p.m. parade downtown will be followed by a community barbecue at Beery Field. Fireworks will be launched at dusk on the harbor.
South Haven
South Haven’s ‘Light up the Lake’ Fireworks take place July 3 at dusk on the lakefront. The fireworks are synchronized to a soundtrack broadcast on Superhits 103.7 COSY-FM.
