The Fun and Female Side of Furniture

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

Giddy, is how Michelle Grzybowski describes the feeling she gets creating furniture pieces to enhance someone’s home. She suggests bringing “life into your home with a pop of color or tone it down with grays and whites,” and you ought to take her advice as her business, {re}imagined Just For You is blooming with vintage furniture finds that have been repurposed, shabbied, and painted for a whole new look. Call it French Country Style, add the whole going green idea by using existing pieces in the world and think about the fact that these quality pieces have been around for a number of years and it’s a beauty and brains approach—with classes to boot!

“Women come through and we make a fun day of it,” Michelle says, citing mother and daughter and best friend group attendance.

Expect instruction and painting and a gourmet lunch while finishing furniture pieces.

“For me, my heart wants to use that God-given creativity. God made us to create. We create babies. I meet special women. I love working with women. We are unique creatures,” Michelle says.

Spaces-Reimagined OtherUsing only Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, Michelle takes dressers, cedar chests, and buffets and transforms them.

“There’s no prep work. The paint distresses beautifully and you can be so creative with layering and techniques,” she says.

Besides furniture, {re}imagined Just For You offers home accessories such as Cottage and Family Rules signs, framed chalkboard pieces, and is currently taking down a one hundred-year-old barn and having fun making decorative signs out of the barn wood.

It’s all about taking something forgotten or past its prime and making something more out of an item.

“We just got six hundred kitchen cabinet doors. We’re having a ball stenciling and hand painting them!” Michelle says.
