When warm weather returns to Michigan, there's no better place to be than outside enjoying fine wine, craft beer and global cuisine with good friends.
Join Van Andel Institute's (VAI) JBoard Ambassadors and celebrate the beauty of the spring season at the 9th annual Around the World event—held in Crescent Park in downtown Grand Rapids. Guests will enjoy an impressive tasting menu, featuring selections from artisan wineries and some of Michigan's best craft beer purveyors, while sampling globally-influenced small plates and appetizers. In addition to great food and drinks, Grand Rapids-based DJ and entrepreneur AB will host a dance party as evening folds into night.
Around the World is the JBoard's signature event that continues to bring people together for a spectacular outdoor event benefitting a very important cause: VAI's cancer, Parkinson's and metabolism research, and science education programs—where curiosity, creativity and critical thinking thrive.
Formed in 2009, the JBoard is composed of young professionals who are passionate advocates for the Institute's mission. Led by co-chairs Rachel Mraz and Chad Bassett, the JBoard is always looking for new ways to engage the West Michigan community and help cultivate the next generation of support for the Institute.
"Grand Rapids is a hub of philanthropy and community engagement, and the Institute is really an extension of the spirit of this city we all call home," Mraz said.
"When you attend events like Around the World, you'll have the opportunity to network with other professionals, meet new friends, be active members of this great community and support inspiring education programs research into diseases like cancer and Parkinson's."
If you're a fan of West Michigan's burgeoning culinary scene, want to promote health and well-being in your community and network with movers and shakers in Grand Rapids, you're not going to want to miss this exciting event!
