1. Make your food look like footballs.
Brownies, cheese balls, pigskins in a blanket ... the possibilities are endless! There's a lot of great food you can dish up for the Super Bowl, and you can make almost anything football-themed. Try a football stadium spread for chips, veggies and dip, or even a brownie sundae bar. You could go as simple as decorating Oreos and chocolate-covered pretzels, or as elaborate as crafting a football-shaped bread bowl.
2. Serve it up football-style.
Food isn't the only thing that could look like footballs. With a little bit of white tape, you could transform any ordinary brown bag into football paper sack to serve popcorn and other salty snacks. Or, tape some stitches to mason jars for drinks. Instead of napkins, have your guests keep clean with penalty flags (a.k.a. yellow napkins).
3. Decorate like a pro.
You don't have to be a professional decorator for the Super Bowl party big leagues. Do-it-yourself by making a field goal post out of soda cans or change any food table into a concession stand. And you're hosting a Super Bowl party, so we know you're cool. But if you're worried about glasses leaving rings on your tables, we don't think anyone will roll their eyes at burlap football coasters.
4. Host a game of your own.
The Super Bowl means it's game time, and there are plenty of games you could play with your guests. Have games throughout the night for kids, or even just during halftime. Try a twist on Pin the Tail on the Donkey and have kids try to place the football between the goal posts, blindfolded. Host Super Bowl Trivia or provide BINGO cards with squares citing plays, fouls and commercial clichés. And don't forget to download West Michigan Woman's Sugar-Coated Super Bowl Candy Quiz to play throughout the game.
