Meet the Original Bachelorette

Engage with the West Michigan Woman Community!

On the eve of Philadelphia heiress Tracy Lord's second wedding, she faces a choice. Between three men. The Philadelphia Story, Philip Barry's 1939 classic romantic comedy, takes the stage at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre through January 29, 2017.

The story, set in 1939, is a period piece told through a contemporary lens and remains as relevant today as it was when it was written. Lord is a strong, determined and confident woman in society who is being pursued by three men—a past love, a present love and a new love. Yet, she has only one right choice.

This is the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre's first production of The Philadelphia Story, staged under the direction of guest director Tom Kaechele, a local community theatre veteran and Grand Rapids Community College Theatre Program Director
